What is Black History Month EU?
A commemorative month dedicated to recognising and celebrating the contribution and achievements of people of African descent to the history and the future of the EU.
The aim of #BHMEU is to bring a month of Black History to the EU Bubble, engaging debate on PAD representation and inclusion. This year, and thanks to the fruitful following impact of the first edition, we intend to broaden BHM across several EU member states.
We intend to continue the debate started last year on PAD political, social and institutional representation and recognition, but also raise awareness and share advocacy best practices on the implementation of the UN International Decade for PAD (IDPAD) at local level as well as at EU level.
Our main objectives are increasing anti-racism awareness, strengthening the dialogue and collaboration between Civil Society Organisations, Institutions and private sector stakeholders but also designing concrete actions at every level of our EU society to educate about inclusion, broadcasting the three pillars of the IDPAD : Justice, development and recognition.
